Eco-Villa's
Mega anchor
The Mega anchors are an Australian innovation that uses a triangulated pipe system as footings. Strong galvanized pipes resistant to rot or termites are driven through the anchor into the soil without the need for conventional building foundations that typically require a minimum of two to three days . The anchors support substantial loads, and are resistant to movement - the soil itself becomes the footing, in recent testing, over two tonnes of pull-out force was required to move a single anchor.

Top hat
Eco-Villa's are based around a versatile locally made rolled steel top-hat that is used for floor, wall, and roof supports, significantly reducing construction time and material costs. As a result, the entire building can be transported easily and assembled quickly on-site, as all the elements are designed to combine and fit with one another.
Unitank
An affordable 2000 litre tank that is available as a flat pack kit complete with lid. It is ideal for container transport, fitting 100 tanks including frames into one container. Unitank uses Mega Anchor foundations and can be elevated to provide gravity fed water.

Advantages of the Eco-Villa ![]()
Affordable
Reduced environmental impact
Long lasting and durable
Compact and lightweight
Uses less material
Easy to erect (can be done with unskilled labour)
Able to adapt to use a range of local materials (windows, cladding and internal fit out)
Designed for hot or cold climates
Designed to be sustainable within the context of the local environment
Sloping roof is ideal for mounting solar panels and collecting drinking water
No concrete slabs necessary
The galvanized frame is termite proof and corrosion resistant
The Eco-Villa will withstand cyclones, earthquakes, floods and other natural disasters
Basic construction
Eco-Villa components are pre-cut and designed to easily fit together so that unskilled labour, with a minimum of guidance, can erect the structure with just a jack hammer and a drill. Smaller Eco-Villas such as the Vanuatu can be assembled in just 4 days (not including internal fit out).
Step 1
Mega-anchors footings are put in place, piers are driven into the ground and stirrups attached.
The Mega-Anchor system is the key to the strength and portability of the structure.
Step 2
The galvanised stirrups and bearers are screwed in place and heights checked.
Joists are laid across bearers and screwed on. Appropriate flooring is laid on the joists (e.g. floor boards, bamboo mats or any other rigid material).
The combination of the Mega-Anchor system and the galvanised steel flooring supports creates a solid platform that can be placed on uneven ground without any excavation or use of concrete.
Step 3
Install wall frames (and Mezzanine floor in double story designs).
Wall frames can be pre-fabricated or built on-site. Diagonal bracing straps are applied quickly and easily on-site. Walls can be clad with locally sourced material at any time after construction, allowing flexibility in resource acquisition.
Step 4
Place galvanised rafters across the top of the walls with top plate. Steel roof sheeting laid on rafters and fixed in place. With sturdy steel frames reinforcing the structure, the exterior roof and wall cladding can be constructed out of a variety of materials.
Step 5
Internal fit out takes place and appropriate furnishings for local conditions are added.
Transport
The beauty of the Eco-Villa is the ease of transport and the fact that more often than not it is able to fit into one 20' shipping container.
It is lightweight and uses far less material than traditional building methods. All exterior cladding and internal fit out materials can also be bought locally greatly reducing the bulk of the materials being transported over large distances for interstate and overseas customers.
Environmentally Sound
Eco-Villa's have a low environmental impact compared to other building methods and we also offer a range of further environmental options.
The footing system utilised creates a suspended floor that can be placed on uneven ground with minimal if any need for excavation or use of concrete.
The suspended floor also allows water to flow under the structure minimising the impact on surrounding flora and fauna.
The foundation and framing system is very efficient utilising compact lightweight parts, thereby reducing the amount of raw materials used and subsequently the impact on the environment from their transport.
The frame is long lasting and durable resistant to corrosion, high winds, rot and termite resistance.
The frame is reinforced and is free standing so the roof, wall cladding and interior fit out can be constructed out of a range of local sustainable materials that are not load bearing.
The wave like slope of the roof encourages air circulation and helps the building to stay cool in summer and warm in winter.
The roof is also ideal for mounting solar panels and collecting drinking water.
Eco-Villa's are also designed to be dismantled and reused.
AID PROJECTS
Eco-Villa is proud of supporting relief organisations and aid projects when and wherever possible. Our product is versatile in purpose and provides a valuable service in remote areas and in the aftermath of a natural disaster. Due to the ease of transport, sturdy structure, simple and speedy construction and affordable price the Eco-Villa is a preferred option in providing shelter for communities suffering hardship.
Over the past few years we have provided safe, comfortable housing in the Northern Territory for Aboriginal Communities and in Vanuatu for a Canadian Project.
The Vanuatu project included the construction of both a school as well as a dormitory building and withstood a period of intense tropical winds.
Not only were these Eco-Villas erected within days but they offered the local residents immediate comfort and practicality as well as provide buildings that are able to withstand future natural disasters. Due to the unique foundations and steel frame the Eco-Villas sturdy construction offers great protection against high winds, earthquakes and many other natural events.
